Good morning respected principal and teachers and greetings to my peers and fellow students. Today we have gathered here for a purpose that is for me to present my views on the topic time management and I am glad I got the opportunity to speak on this topic. Please pardon me for any mistake that I make while presenting my speech.
What is time? We all know about it but none of us has ever touched it or seen it. Weird right? “time slips by” even at this moment that I am standing and speaking here.
“Time and Tide wait for no man” a famous quote that we all have learnt. Know what it means? It is hard to catch time. Whatever you do it will just slip by in front of your eyes. But there’s something called saving time. Is it a piggy bank or something? Not exactly. Saving time in this context means doing something fast that doesn’t require much investment of time. Something that doesn’t take time.
There is a usual tendency in people to pass time necessarily doing nothing. That is called “laziness” or “wasting time”. It is the time spent but no fruitful work achieved.
Hence it is advisable not to waste time as much as possible because once time goes by you can never ever get it make. Hence utilize the maximum time available to us. I sound like an old professor preaching right?
Even the time spent with family is not worthless time. Who gets enough of family time these days? No one hence I even sitting and watching movie with the family having popcorns is careful usage of time.
People go through good times and bad times. Good times are those times when everything goes well without hindrance. Bad times are those times when people face mishaps and unfortunes.
But what we are going to discuss is time management. How to manage time? Time manages us, it rules on us to be honest.
Time management is something that we can only master with time. Time management happens when we are able to dedicate separate time for every work we attend and are able to complete them successfully.
We all are allotted a strict batch of 24 hours a day. Still some people are able to achieve so much more than us. They become so successful while utilizing the same group of 24 hours. How do they do it? The answer lies in proper time management.
Good time management requires an important shift in focus from activities to results: being busy isn’t the same as being effective. (Ironically, the opposite is often closer to the truth.)
Spending your day in a frenzy of activity often achieves less, because you’re dividing your attention between so many different tasks. Good time management lets you work smarter – not harder – so you get more done in less time. Man is not a machine.
Very often we tend to divide our attention into different tasks and end up not doing good at any one of them. Often, we will see people complain about how busy they are the entire day and still we will find that the amount of what they have done in each of the tasks that they claim to have accomplished is next to nothing.
This kind of people always end up ruining the things and never achieve anything in life. The key to success is channelizing our effort into a specified direction so that sizable amount of work and significant to work can be done without being wasteful.
Very convenient way of doing that is to make a regular daily schedule and work according to it. To inculcate this habit, we should be able to take out time and identify and decide upon the jobs that we are assigned. Then we have to decide and priorities our activities as to which one is more important than the other and has to be completed before the other.
Then we have to write it down on a piece of paper or diary or notebook or in some mobile phone application or a computer. The next day we must refer to it and stick to it strictly without being lenient.
Maintaining and adhering to a strict schedule not only helps us manage your time better but it also makes us responsible people and inculcates in us the virtues of discipline and strictness to follow rules.
Finally, I would like to say that time management is what drives our lives. We live on this earth for a specified amount of time and within that we have to undertake and execute a lot of different activities. To be honest life is truly short to do all this and that is the reason why we need time management
