Essay on A Secret Place (1018 Words)

February 19, 2018 by Study Mentor Leave a Comment

A secret place or a hiding place may refer to physical location. We try to hide when we want to stay away from worldly affairs. Such places offer solace and peace of mind.

We share our secret places with people we trust and love. Think of the secret place you used as hideouts when you were child. A walk in the memory lane will give you reason to smile and cherish.

It could have been a place under stairs or behind the pile of pillows. One slips in there and it feels magical. One feel safe and protected from the world as it gives the feeling as if no one would be able to trace us there.

In this sense secret places offer honesty and trust as we are by ourselves in these places. The idea of a secret place changes as we grow in life age wise. During childhood, hiding from other eyes gives immense pleasure. It attracts attention of people around us.

Everybody in their life span have secrets and secret places. The secret place may be sometimes in our close proximity.

And sometimes such places are in faraway places acting as the medium for isolation. Secret places are sometimes located in some remote off areas, cuts off us from outside world.

As a child, place which we often use as our hideout appears silly choice in later years. Actually it’s not the place which changes; it’s our perception about place which changes with passage of time.

Kids play the game of hide and seek. In this game single child gives den. He/she has to find out other participants of game who are hiding in different places.

The child, who has to find out, could trace the favourite hideouts of children and may win the game. Usually the hideout of different kids stays same because lair provides the cosines.

But a hideout often implies a state of soul and mind to in relationship with god. According to Bible the idea of a secret place originated with God alone.

To be able to unite with god we must meet him in the secret place which is heart in human body.

Once a heart is filled with honest and transparency, our heart becomes a hideout for God. To commune with him we need isolation but not from the world but from the ill feelings.

Everybody needs isolation at some or the other point of time in life. But the desired isolation could not fetch inner peace. The inner convictions follow when the mind is at peace.

Every religion teaches the value of faith in God and to deter from sins as HE could see everyone from HIS hideout. It`s only we people with normal eye can`t see him. He may see us from everyplace at every moment.

A visit to secret place gives pleasure similarly a visit to place visited by god gives pleasure too. There are no time constraints to visit such places.

Whenever one is able to communicate with god, for the purpose of self-realization and not material gains, God pays the visit to such mind. Every religion of world teaches the principle of self-discipline as medium to reach for God.

One may be sitting in a coffee shop meditating while engaged in worldly matters. It’s the secret chamber of God that goes from place to next and not the god himself. His permanent hideout is our heart.

We need to clean out our heart of all the jealousy and envious feeling to be able to find HIM within us. The more quickly we perform this task, more quickly we are able to trace the god and HIS blessing in our life.

A secret place is meant to renew our mind. It transforms our thoughts and directs them in right lines which could ease our life.

When the secret place is place to reunite with god, it becomes holy. That is why temple, mosque or any place of religious worshiping is considered holy.

In such places one may secretly enunciates with their lord. Physically people are present among people. But the aura of these places is such that if people pray to their God whole heartedly they could meet up with him.

But then it’s not the temple or mosque is the only place where god resides secretly. It’s the whole world that is HIS residence. Love for fellow mankind and merciful behaviour toward animals is path to reach to HIS secret residency.

It is human nature to take resort in secret places when they don’t have eligibility or power to fight world. But when human are in despair and have no worldly support in life they get into rescue of god.

It’s HE who looks after every aspect of human life. Thereafter HE rewards mankind after weighing their good deeds and the evil karma. Though HE is sitting in his secret place yet HE keeps an eye on all of HIS children.

A physical Secret place is meant for human who have ordinary vision. But HE, who is supernatural, nothing, is secret and no place is secret place.

I as a child of God firmly believe that he is with me every moment and every deed I begin and complete. So I need a hideout in his laps.

Blessing of our parents are the shortcut to reach to this hideout. It’s said parents are children`s best friends and well-wishers. If they are happy and contented, God is pleased.

So everyone should make efforts not to betray their parents. For, the hearts of parents are the heart of god. If one`s action brings discomfort to elders they are bound to suffer the consequences of their actions.

The secret places are non-existing in material world. One needs to hide from evil actions and bad thoughts.  I would like to quote C.G. Jung, a renowned physiotherapist, in this contest-

“Your visions will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.”

It’s the awakening of mind and heart that leaves no necessity for any hideout or secret places.
