The Annual Day function is one of the greatest events of a school. It is a red letter event in the history of any institution. Generally, it is organized at the end of an academic year
We had our School Annual Day Function on April 6th this year. It was held in the school playground. The Mayor of our town was invited as the Chief Guest of the function. The function venue was cleaned and decorated with flower pots, balloons colorful ribbons, etc.
The Chief Guest arrived at 8.00 p.m. He was warmly welcomed by the Management of the school, the Principal and other staff members at the gate. The N.C.C. cadets presented him the guard of honour. He was escorted to the venue by the Principal, followed by the Head boy, the Head Girl and the Scouts.
The function started with a Saraswati Puja (Vandana). The President garlanded the Chief Guest and delivered by cultural items. The first to be staged was skit. There were a few songs and dance items presented by the students. The Punjabi dance by the senior students was appreciated by all.
The western dance was performed by the junior students and was appreciated. After these items, the Principal read out the annual report of the school. Then the District Magistrate delivered his speech. He praised the school for its progress.
The Chief Guest gave away the prizes. I won three prizes, one for coming first in the Essay Competition, one for story telling Competition and another for standing first in my class.
The vice Principal then thanked the Chief Guest and other guests. The function came to an end with the singing of the National Anthem
