What is the PFMS Scholarship?

PFMS (Public Financial Management System) is a scholarship and fee reimbursement online system. The government sponsors the funds for the disbursal among the students. The amount is easily given to the students without much paperwork. For receiving scholarships, one has to register on the online platform. It was implemented on 27 October 2017.

PFMS stands for Public Financial Management System.

Types of PFMS Scholarship Schemes

1. PFMS scholarship for college students

This scholarship is given to the college students up to Rs. 2000 per month.

Eligibility – 12th pass (from 20%)

2. Post-Matric Scholarship for SC students

This is provided for Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes students covering fees and maintenance allowance.

3. Pre-matric Scholarship for SC students

It is for classes 11th and 12th up to Rs350 per month to scholars and hostellers.

4. National means cum merit Scheme (NMMS)

In this, students are selected based on the state-level exam (MAT and SAT)

5. National Scheme of Incentive to Girl Child for Secondary Education (NSIGC)

It is focused on increasing education among girl children from SC/ST by the Department of elementary education.

6. Top-class education scheme for SC

This is to give top-notch education among SC students to study in prominent institutions. It covers their tuition fee and residential fees.

7. Upgradation of merit of SC

It is to give extra support to students studying in class 9th to 12th  by covering their coaching fees, pocket money, books, and stationery.

Process of selection for arranging coaching for SC/ST students studying in class 9th to 12th. 2050 students will be covered under the scheme.
Coaching should start at 9th level and continue upto 12th for a period of 4 years.
Entry point is class 9th however students may be enrolled in class 10th and 11th if shown excellent performance.
State Govt. may use their discretion to decide allotment of seats among SCs on the basis of illiterate population of their communities.

8. Post-matric scholarships for OBCs

It is for the students falling into the OBC category for professional courses, graduation degrees, diploma, and certificate courses.

Here are the important steps for the registration of PFMS scholarship 2020:-

  1. Go to the PFMS portal. A window will appear.
  2. Click on the link ‘click on PFMS Scholarship 2020’and tap continue.
  3. The school name is the agency name. Fill the required details and fill school registration no under ‘registration no.’
  4. Fill the bank account details.
  5. Give your active mobile number, and it will be verified through OTP.
  6. Click on submit then.

PFMS scholarship status 2020

You can track your status by logging in to the PMFC official portal by your aadhar card number and main details. Enter the aadhar card number. Then click the search button. The result will appear.
