Types of Scholarships for class 5 students

1. Geo Genius Geography olympiad

Geo Genius Geography Olympiad is an Olympiad exam for the students of class 2 to class 10. The name itself contains the word Geography, which makes the meaning very clear that the exam is based mainly on geography.

Eligibility

  • ICSE board students
  • CBSE board students
  • State board students

Only the above-mentioned board’s students can apply, and also the student must be studying in between class 2 to class 10 to be eligible.

Reward

The reward is awarded in two levels-

Level 1-

  1. Rank 1 in school gets a certificate and a gold medal
  2. Rank 2 in school gets a certificate and a silver medal
  3. Rank 3 in school gets a certificate and a bronze medal

Level 2-

  1. National Rank 1 in school gets a certificate, a gold medal, laptop, trophy
  2. National Rank 2 in school gets a certificate, a silver medal, tablet,
  3. National Rank 3 in school gets a certificate, a bronze medal, trophy and watch
  4. All the participants will get a certificate and finalist trophy.

2. Pre and Post Matric Disability Scholarship Uttarakhand

This scholarship is offered by the Social Welfare Department of Uttarakhand Government. The student must be a resident of Uttarakhand to apply for this scholarship. This is only for disabled students, and this is given from class 1 to postgraduates.

Eligibility

  1. Must be a student of a recognized institution within or outside Uttarakhand.
  2. The level of disability has to be 40% minimum.
  3. Has to qualify for the last qualifying exam.
  4. Family income has to be equal to or lower than Rs. 44500.
  5. No other scholarship will be allowed with this one.

Reward

The reward will be the stipend of Rs. 50 per month to the student until he/she passes class 5.

3. Pre Matric Scholarship for SC/ST/OB

Uttarakhand government provides scholarships to the students from class 1 to class 10. Only the residents of Uttarakhand who are students of class 1-10 can apply for this scholarship provided they fall in the category of SC or ST or OBC.

Eligibility

  1. Students must fall in the category of SC/ST/OBC.
  2. Resident of Uttarakhand
  3. Studying within the state or outside in a recognized institute.
  4. The student has to pass the last exam that will make him or her eligible for the scholarship.
  5. Must not have any backlogs.
  6. Family income should not be more than Rs. 45,500.

Reward

  1. For the category of students falling in SC/ST from class, 1-class 5 will be rewarded Rs. 600 annually.
  2. For the category of students falling in the OBC category from class, 3-class 5 will be rewarded Rs. 600 annually.

4. Pre and Post Matric Scholarship for OBC students, Delhi

This scholarship is offered by the Delhi government only for OBC students who reside in Delhi. The main aim of this scholarship is to provide education to those who are financially unstable and poor.

Eligibility

  1. Pre-matric and post-matric students have to fall in the OBC category.
  2. A resident of Delhi and a student of any recognized board.
  3. For pre-matric, a family earning must be below INR 2,50,000.
  4. For post-matric, a family earning must be below INR 1,00,000.

5. Reimbursement of tuition fees for SC/ST/OBC/Minorities, Delhi

Reimbursement of tuition fees is a Delhi government initiative. The department of welfare reimburses the tuition fees for specific categories, namely SC, OBC, ST, and minorities. This scheme applies to students from class 1-class 12.

Eligibility

  1. The student should be a resident of Delhi.
  2. The student must fall in any of these categories, namely Schedule Caste, Schedule Tribe, OBC.
  3. The institution or board in which the student studies must be recognized by the government.
  4. No other scholarship can be allowed at the same time; no clubbing of scholarships will be entertained.
  5. The family income of the participating student has to be less than Rs. 2,00,000 annually to be eligible for the scheme.

The reward after getting this scholarship from the Government of Delhi is to get the tuition fees reimbursed.

6. Financial Assistance to SC/ST/OBC/Minority, Delhi

The department of welfare of Delhi Government has taken care of providing financial assistance to Schedule Caste, Schedule Tribe, OBC, and Minorities with financial assistance. Students studying in class 1 to class12 are eligible for this scholarship if they fall in the mentioned category that is any one of these Schedule Caste, Schedule Tribe, OBC and Minorities.

Eligibility

  1. The student who wants to take part in this scholarship test must be a resident of Delhi.
  2. Students have to fall in any of these categories- SC/ST/OBC for being eligible under the scheme as per the Government of Delhi.
  3. The attendance of the student has to be a minimum of 70 % in the last academic year.
  4. No other scholarship will be received by the student with this scholarship at the same time.
  5. The total family income should be equal to or lower than Rs. 200000.

Reward

The student who qualifies the criteria as stated above and gets selected under this scholarship scheme will be getting the financial assistance to purchase stationery of Rs. 100, applicable from class 1 to class 8.

7. National Child Award for Exceptional Achievement

National Child Award for Exceptional Achievement is an initiative taken by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India. Under this scheme, the age limit of eligibility is 5-18 years. The scholarship is based on exceptional achievements that the participant will prove in the field of art and culture, including merits in the subject, dancing, swimming, playing, art, and singing.

Eligibility

  1. The student who participate’s in the scholarship must be a resident of India.
  2. The age limit of the student is mandatory to be checked for eligibility. Students from 5 years to 18 years are eligible.
  3. This scholarship looks for exceptional talents in fields including designing, social service, music, art, dance, and various such skills that can be considered to be exceptional in a student of 5 to 18 years old.

Reward

Gold medal of 20gms with prize money INR 20000 and a certificate for Rank 1.

For the next 35 ranks, silver medals of 50gms, INR 10000, Certificate, and a personal award.

8. Cultural Talent search scholarship scheme

This scholarship is organized and taken care of by The Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT). The objective of CCRT is to train the children for cultural activities and make them much better in any specific field.

Eligibility

  1. The eligible age group is 10 to 14 years old.
  2. Students of any recognized board or can also be eligible if he/she belongs to a family holding such art and culture.

Reward

  1. If the participant is selected, then he/she will be annually awarded Rs.3600.
  2. Also, the candidate gets the fees reimbursed that he pays to his teacher for such specialization.

9. The Hindustan Times scholarship program

This scholarship program is organized by Hindustan Times. Class 5 students are eligible as the eligibility is from class 5 to class 9. This scholarship is to boost up the young mind by way of appreciation.

Eligibility

  1. Students from class 5 to class 9 are all eligible.
  2. The locality is specific. Only the students of Pune, Mohali, Chandigarh, Mumbai thane, and Panchkula are eligible.
  3. The student in his last exam must have scored a minimum of 60 %.

Reward

  1. From Mumbai, the top 50 will be selected and rewarded INR 50,000 each.
  2. From all the other mentioned places, 50 students will be selected and rewarded INR 25,000 each.

10. Pre upper primary and pre-secondary scholarship, Maharashtra

Maharashtra Government offers this scholarship to the students of class 5 to class 8. The student has to prove the merit by qualifying the competitive examination. This exam is taken in every consecutive year.

Eligibility

  1. Students of class 5 to class 8 are eligible if they pass the exam.
  2. The good conduct of the student will be seen if the contract is renewed.

Steps of renewing the Class 5 Students Scholarship

Every student must know that a scholarship is valid for only one academic year, and it has to be renewed else the scheme will become invalid for the student. There are issues that are found by students when they renew’s the scheme of scholarship they already have. Here is the way out and guidance for such students. There are the following steps that will guide the student while they renew their scholarship schemes-

  1. The student must check that he/she fulfills the basic criteria. That is the attendance has to be a minimum of 75% in the last academic year.
  2. If the first criteria are satisfied, the student has to search out the respective portal of the ongoing scholarship.
  3. Log in with your ID into the official site of the scholarship.
  4. The portal will bring out pop-ups for you to enter your valid details like your application ID and other relevant documents, including attendance proof.
  5. You must not enter any wrong details, which can result in rejection.
  6. After you log in into the official site, check for new notifications if any available to update yourself about the recent changes which you must know.
  7. Update your correct details as you fill-up the renewal application, keep in mind that wrong details will disqualify you and your application will be canceled.
  8. After checking all the details twice, click on the submit button.
  9. Do not refresh the site and wait till the submit is successful.
  10. Now check the dashboard of the portal and see for your application.
  11. Click on the application and see the status.
  12. You will get the print out option there when you get the application form, which has been submitted by you already.
