Hi everyone. Greetings to all my elders and love to my fellow mates. I am —————- and today I am going to present before you my speech on ‘packing for a trip’.
I urge you to kindly co-operate with me throughout the time that I am putting forward my ideas.
Trips are exciting. They bring joy to our rather monotonous lives. When we are on a trip we lose the count of days and dates, what is left is pure fun.
Packing for a trip is as much a fun as going on a trip. Whenever we go on a holiday we need to pack the items that we need. It is indeed a very careful thought a work process. First categorize the items then distribute the items according to it.
Recently I have gone to such a trip myself. It was an educational trip arranged by my school.
Entire batch of students from all sections of class VII were to be taken on a twelve-day trip to Chennai, Mysore, Hampi, Goa and Mumbai. Since the trip was long hence the packing should be obviously more.
I am personally, a very lazy person. Hence, it was really difficult for me to pick myself up from bed. I finally did after hearing a lot of tantrums from my mom.
After getting up the first task was to decide how many suitcases that I am going to need.
I thought that since I wanted to travel light. One suitcase and a bag will be enough for me. So I pulled out my favorite trolley bag from the almirah.
Now I sat down to prepare a list of the items that I am going to need. First thing that I need is soap for bathing, washing and cleaning.
So, I have to pack a few soaps, hand washes and detergents. Next item on the list that I am going to need is creams and moisturizers. So I put them on the list.
Then came the turn of sunscreens, lip balms and hair oils. Now is the time for the big items. The first item that I arranged was an adequate supply of socks and handkerchiefs.
I have a bad habit of losing my handkerchiefs anywhere and everywhere that I go, so I have to make sure that I carry more of them in case I lose one.
Then I packed my toothbrushes and a few pens, pencils and sketchbooks for the one moment notes and diagrams that I need to make.
Finally, came the turn to pack clothes. That was a tough decision. What to wear and when to wear what. I was confused as always. My mother helped me out.
She sorted my jeans and tops and helped me to choose them. I don’t know what I would have done without her. I took twelve dresses to wear in twelve days. Finally, my packing was towards completion.
There were few more last moment things to take like bed sheets, charger, power bank, medicines, and slippers. These were last moment items which I had kept for packing at a later time. These I packed in my backpack
But then something happened. Then I fell into the delusion of thinking whether I packed my toothbrush or not. Without toothbrush, it will be difficult.
Now I also forgot in which pocket of the bag I had kept the tooth brush. So I had to search up all the bags and in the process all the orderly placed items got messed up again.
Nothing was in place. The clothes got crushed. The toothbrush went deep inside the bag. It was lying there hidden, out of sight.
After getting it I kept it nearby, within my reach so that I do not lose it again. Now I had to take out the packed items and put them back in order again.
After packing, I suddenly thought whether I had packed enough medicines or not. But the thought of taking out the things again pained.
So just like any other lazy person would. I found out an easy solution. I thought if I’ll need some medicines I’ll borrow it from friends or buy it from a medical shop nearby if urgently needed.
When our packing was finally over I was so exhausted that I lied down on the bed. I didn’t know packing could be such a tiring job. But on the whole I had fun packing for this trip.
The choices and selections that you make matters.
Anything that you leave out may destroy your entire trip experience hence it is important that you remember and pack every item and also remember where you have kept them or else you might need to take everything all over again and search for it.
Also, a bit of advice is that, be careful about your luggage while travelling.
