Myself Essay (380 Words)
The sleeping town was suddenly shaken to consciousness when the entire house started rattling like a railway coach. I could see before my eyes that the water jug fell off from the table and crashed to pieces.
The fan started dangling as if was a pendent. Yes! It was an earthquake. and earthquake so devastating that it brought the entire sleeping town to life in the middle of the night. Then suddenly everything went black. And I woke up.
Hi, I am Rittika Bose, a girl in her teenage years. And just like any other teenager i tried to shut my sleep burdened eyes fall back to sleep irrespective of what is happening around me.
Nightmares had the better of me again this time. Thanks to my vivid imaginative skills.
So as I stated earlier, I am Rittika, an Indian belonging to the state of West Bengal and residing in the town of Kolkata.
I am currently studying in Indian institute of engineering science and technology located in Shibpur; Howrah.
I am studying bachelors in architecture, town and regional planning. I got into this institute by ranking a good score in the JEE mains (joint entrance examinations) after my higher secondary examination.
Rewinding back to my past. I studied in the ICSE (Indian Certificate of Secondary Education) board from where I passed out my 10th grade.
During our board exams we were told that a 10th board examination is the most important examination of one’s life.
Quiet unfortunately I later came to know that the mark sheet is needed only to prove your birth date…Nothing more! I passed out with flying colours scoring 90.6 percent.
My higher secondary schooling was done in K.E.Carmel School, Amtala which is located 24 parganas south of Kolkata. It is under the ISC (Indian School Certificate Examination) board.
There I took up pure science as my stream and computer as my additional subject. In the board examinations i scored 91.8% and scored full marks in English and Computer.
Yes those were my favourite two subjects.
My hobbies are sketching, making DIY’s, and reading books. I know to play guitar and I love riding my bike roaming places. Sometimes I got into bad accidents due to carelessness and got wounded badly.
But life moves on!. Helmet is a major safety measure while you are riding a bike.
That saved a lot of times that I can’t even count. Yes I know it is expected that women should ride a Scooty because that is considered more womanly but I had always wanted to do something unique and different, something out of the box.
And my dad had always been beside me in all my ventures. He is my role model. The person who didn’t pamper me when I fell down…Instead someone who told me to get up on my feet myself and then try again.
To balance the equation, my mother on the other hand was responsible for nurturing my creative side. She was the one who developed my skills in arts and crafts.
She was the one who urged me to take up Architecture rather than a mainstream engineering course.
Coming to the achievements that I have personally achieved, I am an amateur business woman. I sell my crafts to my customers.
This helps me to get my little whims and wishes fulfilled. I believe that we should all start doing something from an early life. And me? I believe in making a mark in life. Utilizing each and every moment of life to its fullest extent.
Teenagers nowadays are quiet mature and serious when it comes to their career and I would like to call myself as one of them.
Coming to the creativity part, cartoons have always fascinated me. I still watch cartoons. And I am an animator. I work part time in an animation making company.
I develop short films which are then sent to different television channels. Doing college and all this is hard. There are times when I feel leaving everything, fall back to bed and sleep, just like any other teenager would.
But commitments are made, and they have to be kept at any point.
Teaching i believe is a noble profession. My mother is a teacher and i adore her for this in every way. A child’s first footstep in education and character building is brought about by a teacher. She is the one who shapes our future.
I believe “a doctor can make another doctor, an engineer can make another engineer, but a teacher can make them all…be it a doctor, engineering or a scientist”.
I have also started giving private tuition’s to school children. Although it’s hard to maintain your cool and teach, if you are a short tempered person like I am.
Coming back to my aim in life. I want to be a product designer, because this is a profession which requires creativity, innovation and thinking out of the box.
This profession has become a hot cake in today’s industry. I want to do my masters in product design from IIT’s and then start my own practice.
Everyone in this world is an unique individual. You are also an unique individual just as I am. Every individual have their own characteristics and habits.
Every human is composed of a vast number of feelings thoughts. But to know oneself completely one has to take a peek within oneself and exploit the character traits, rectify the flaws, develop the goods and then altogether can one before a complete human.
Swami Vivekananda, Rabindranath Tagore, Mahatma Gandhi, APJ Adbul Kalam, they were not famous in their early days, they too had flaws, but they refined themselves and became what they are known for now.
Their duplicate is impossible. I know there are flaws in me too, but i before becoming an architect or an animator or a product designer, I want to be a refined person, someone who’s duplicate cannot be made, just one of its own kind.
