Good morning to honourable Principal , teachers and all my dear friends
Today I would like to express my views on my country.
I am privileged to say that I belong to such a great nation, India. India is the 7th largest in area and 2nd most populated country in the world, located in the south of the Asian continent. It is surrounded by three different oceans – the Bay of Bengal in east, the Arabian sea from west and the Indian ocean from south.
With all its diverse culture and colourful seasons and rich heritage, India is truly one of the most beautiful places in the world and my friends, we all have a great privilege of being born in such a nation where we can experience such diversity in peace and unity.
As Indians we should be aware about India’s interesting history, culture, diverse religions and other important aspects.
The independence from British rule in 1947 marked the turning point of growth and development of India. As an independent nation, new laws and rules are made for the betterment and growth of the country.
India is a tropical country that enjoys the favour of its location on the world map and gets to experience all kinds of seasons and weathers. It is a home to one of the most beautiful mountains, huge rivers, beautiful valleys and vast forests. In India you can experience from coldest weather to the hottest weather.
India has is the most populous democracy in the world and it has 29 states and 7 union territories.
The national language of India is Hindi but each state has its own unique culture and various local languages. Due to the rich and diverse culture India attracts thousands of tourists from all over the world who are eager to taste the blend of all these cultures.
Many major religions of the world like – Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism and Jainism find its roots in India. And so India is a home for people of almost all religions, as people are free to follow what they believe and exercise freedom of following any religion they want.
There are many tourists destinations in India, like the Taj Mahal in Agra that is included in the seven wonders of the world , the red fort and Qutb Minar in Delhi , the ancient forts in Rajasthan , the Golden Temple in Amritsar, Fatehpur sikri , Nilgiris Kajuraho, Ajanta and Ellora caves, etc. All these great monuments and the natural beauty of its forests and rivers, make India a great place for tourists.
India is also recognized as being home to many temples and spiritual places where many pilgrims and devotees gather to carry out their religious and spiritual duties.
India is a democratic republic, the citizens possess the right to vote and elect their own leaders who will govern the country. The constitution of India aims to give people equal right regardless of their gender, caste or religion.
The people enjoy right to freedom, right to express their views and many other privileges that give them freedom to express themselves freely and live in peace and harmony with each other. The motto of the Indian constitution is that the democratic government is “of the people, by the people and for the people.”
The economic sector of India is also growing fast, the agricultural and farming sector form the backbone of economy of India. The various import and export business is also flourishing through international trades with other countries across the world.
India is a perfect example of unity in diversity, so many people from different culture, tradition and religion come together to make this a great nation and I’m proud to be a part of it.
