Essay on The Joy of City Life

December 18, 2017 by Study Mentor Leave a Comment

Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution establishes growth of human being from all the aspects. The first and foremost is the physical development. Physical development meant that the mind of the beings is also developing and that is why, the civilization has improved all the grounds of human survival.

From being apes, we are now developed beings with developed brain. After realizing the intent towards enlightenment, slowly and steadily, man understood the need to settle in a civilized manner. From loitering around in the jungles, man started settling down in groups.

Jungles started getting transformed into hamlets and from hamlets cities came into existence. In fact, a city can be defined as a modern form of people settling in a place where in all the facilities and provisions are there in the best possible manner.

Earlier, people used to live in the villages. Now, life in the villages uses to be peaceful. However, the way of living used to be basic. There were no proper buildings.

There were no proper schools. People used to work on the fields in order to earn bread and the concept of currency was not there at all. In fact, barter system was there which used to govern the small economy of the people.

There were no proper cemented roads and during rainy season, it was very difficult to live in such flooded areas. Also, there was no proper transport system. People used to walk on foot or there used to be bullock carts for carrying goods from one place to another.

The sanitation facilities were not all conducive for a proper living. Various kinds of diseases were prevalent due to lack of cleanliness and sanitation. Therefore, it is evident that life in the villages or for that matter countryside used to be full of trials and tribulations. Countryside life was not as romanticized as the portrayal of images by great poets.

However, human brain has a unique quality to develop drastically. After currency and coins came into existence, a lot trade and commerce started taking place across various places. This enabled people to interact with others. The exposure in terms of exchange and communication started taking place frequently.

This enabled people to know about prospects of thriving and they started comparing better ways of living. It is obvious that once the minds develop, ways of living also start getting transformed. Education played a vital role in expanding the horizon of knowledge. Knowledge empowers man. However, village life did not have proper facilities to educate man.

Once, cities came into existence, the planning of the cities was done in order to bring about all the respective changes so that man did not have any problem in settling. Modernization brought in the concept of city life which consists of all kinds of major and minor amenities.

Be it employment, education, entertainment, a city is fraught with opportunities. Such kind of an environment helps a lot in sharpening the respective minds and at the same time gives people a lot of options to go for their respective best options.

What we call scope in order to understand the maximum limit up to which one can stretch one’s level of search, potential and capability encounters a huge expansion. There is nothing that cannot be accessed in a city life. Life becomes easy and joyful when one settles in cities.

Even today, if you ask a person residing in village about the condition of growth and development, the answer will not be affirmative. The major difference between a village and a city is that the latter is always on the path of constant development.

The former does not work on the model of coping up with each and every change. Change is the only constant whenever it comes grow both as an individual, one in many and also with the society, many in one.

The reason behind incessant action in a city life is that the system of governance is politicised. People believe in democracy and that is why they chose their respective leaders to lead them. The hierarchies from President to the ministers makes them be on their toes to keep developing and become better day by day.

In fact, all the settled and major growing cities are in competition among themselves in order to become the best city. However, each place has its own unique points. Education is the most important of all. That is why, schools are very important to be present in cities.

And, indeed they are present in each of the cities. It not only helps in getting employment as teachers, but also gives children opportunities to know, to learn, to prepare and to grow as better individuals.

People from nearby areas shift in the cities in order to get admission in the city schools wherein they get to study, play and participate in various competitions. All these elements contribute in overall personality development and mental as well as psychological development.

Another very important aspect of city life is regarding recreation and entertainment ways and means. City lives are highly fast and each and every person out here is very hard working. People toil hard day and night in order to have a fast paced life. This, in turn, involves a lot of stress in the overall city lifestyle.

In order to keep oneself going and to evade stress, one needs to have the exposure of various kinds of platforms which can help them in entertaining themselves. Along with being adept in terms of employment and education, city life is fraught with entertainment platforms.

These are parks, cinema halls, multiplexes, malls, museums and other such places wherein people can spend free and quality time with their respective family members. Apart from this, cities have best kind of medical facilities. Health is the most important priority in our lives.

Without proper check up points, a city cannot function. Hospitals are mandatory so that people can visit doctors whenever required. In the villages, due to inappropriate hospitals, people have to suffer unnecessarily.

Therefore, it is clearly evident how joyous city life is. It is a highly planned area wherein people live happily together and at the same time, they can also govern individually as well with the respective families.

There are innumerable perks of being a city resident. One can enjoy the freedom of pursuing whatever she/he wants. There is a kind of direction in a city.

There is a systematic way of establishing each and every facet one’s life. Growing up in a city makes life way easier and availability of opportunities allow people to choose as per their respective preferences.
