Importance of Vegetables | Essay for Children

It has been aptly said that health is wealth. Staying healthy is highly essential in order to function well in the other spheres of life. No matter how ambitious and focused one is, without having a proper health, one cannot accomplish anything in life. Health is the root of one’s existence without which life cannot be imagined.

The human body is just like a machine which can only function when it is in proper condition. If it is not properly oiled, it cannot fulfill its allotted function. Similarly, our body requires vitamins, minerals, salts and other entities to go through the phenomenon of life. Life is full of challenges and struggle. In order to fight through them, one requires to be mentally and psychologically strong.

In order to be fit on these spheres, the first and foremost step is through physical well being. However, human body cannot function on its own. It requires to be taken care of. The natural elements which are present in the body have to be regulated time and again in order to keep ourselves hale and hearty.

The best way to remain fit is to have proper food habits. Food is another essential part of one’s life. If human body is a machine then food acts as its fuel to keep it going on. However, in the contemporary scenario, people do not have a proper diet.

Most of the focus is on the fast foods these days which are very good in taste but are devoid of all the essential elements. The only recluse are vegetables. Vegetables are the most important source of a healthy living. Even doctors suggest to have different assortment of vegetables before prescribing any set of medicines.

Medicines are secondary when it comes to treat any kind of ailment at the initial phase. Vegetables are very light and act as a catalyst in the complete recovery of the patients. In fact, in the olden days, when science was not as advanced as it is in the current times, people used to depend on natural sources, predominantly on vegetables and fruits.

And the mortality rate was also high due to the intake of pure and healthy vegetables. However, this is what has been disrupted these days. Due to the arrival of modernization and cosmopolitanism, food industry has drifted towards the intake of synthetic dishes which have pushed back the importance of vegetables.

Due to this change, more and more people are having major health ailments and are under the constant supervision of various doctors. The first and foremost problem which the doctors point out is the lack of nutrients in the diet plan which results in various aberrations that start occurring in the body.

The ultimate recluse is that the medical experts tend to prescribe calcium, multi vitamins and important salts in the form of medicines which are not only costly, but also are not conducive for the long run.

This is the amount of loss and lapse which the non intake of vegetables causes in the human life. All the major diseases pertaining to the heart, kidneys, liver, and pancreas happen due to not having vegetables in the diet plan.

The result is that we tend to depend on diet charts prepared by the allotted nutrient experts. This will not happen if we eat vegetables regularly. The wisdom is in going for them since childhood so that it becomes a part of our lives.

This will not only prevent us from all kinds of ailments, but also keep us away from the costly medical supervision which is a kind of mental stress as well. Vegetables have a lot of fiber content in them which helps in keeping the bowel movements intact.

Once the bowel movements are proper, the other body parts remain in regulated condition which in turn keeps the whole body in the proper condition.

Also, vegetables are conveniently available and are seasonal as well. Each season consists of respective vegetable which when eaten are highly beneficial both in raw and cooked form. One of the most prevalent problems which the people are facing these days is that of obesity.

Obesity is the result of having too much of junk food and the absence of fibrous vegetables. Due to this, people are becoming obese as the fat is not getting consumed for good. The unconsumed fat accumulates in the body and gradually destroys its capacity to fight with the diseases, thereby reducing one’s immunity and hemoglobin level as well.

A proper intake and a healthy platter is the combination which is the greatest treasure of one’s life.  Everything else is temporary but what stays is our body. Body and food are two sides of the same coins. And food comprises incorporation of green and other kinds of vegetable which are rich in proteins, minerals and all kinds of useful salts.

This is mandatory because when we have a proper intake, our body gets all the appropriate nutrients which keep us happy and calm. Absence of vegetables disturbs our physical system which in turn disturbs us mentally as well. We tend to remain irritated and become the victims of blood pressure which eventually makes us impatient and lethargic.

Therefore, the best way to tackle with such issues is to eat wisely and properly. Instead of going for unhealthy items for taste, the better option is to incorporate vegetables in the regular diet which should include seasonal veggies which can be cooked in order to enhance the taste.

Depending on vegetables is to depend on Nature as these are the gifts for survival provided to us by Mother Nature. Next time if you ever feel that you are facing some problem regarding your health, make sure that your diet is proper with the proper presence of vegetables.

The effects of recovery will be fast in that case. Be it in the form of soups, dishes, fibers, vegetables are always the most essential food option for us as they are natural and have a lot of benefits. When one goes astray from the natural mode of things, one ends up in crisis whose manifestations can be seen in the form of obesity, cardiac problems, fatty liver issues, thyroid and other major health issues.

Therefore, the best way is to eat healthy and eventually stay healthy. One single vegetable can regulate the entire working system. It is always advisable not to compromise on them as a compromise on vegetables creates number of problems in our lives and an incorporation of them will keep us green and gaiety just like vegetables are fresh and raw.
