Essay on If I Could Make School Rules

March 1, 2018 by Study Mentor Leave a Comment

Rules, 5 letter word easy to spell but difficult to make and even difficult to install in a dynamic society.Schools and rules, they sounds rhyming. Not only are they rhyming they are synonymous to each other.

School is where a child learns the discipline. School teaches him/her to face the world. Basic etiquette comes from schooling.

In nut shell it could be concluded that school is where the soul of education lies.

The ritual of schooling is not a new born one. Since time immemorial, this custom has been in practice. It will continue to exist till the doomsday.

Only the face of system to part education underwent changes from time to time. The basic essence of education has remained the same.

It is well said “habits die hard”

Schooling system of yesterday called as Gurukuls where Gurus use to live. During those days formal education parted only to the royal classes.

The princes after attaining certain age made to live in these Gurukuls for period of time. All the luxurious attached with royalty taken away in these ashrams.

Everyone lived there a life of common person.  There children were made to learn not only bookish knowledge. They also learnt the art of using various weapon, called as shashtra siksha.

After education of various aspects of life, prince used to return to their palaces.  After the completion of this knowledge, that prince is considered to be eligible to become a king.

With the abolition of hierarchy system, democratic government came to the power. The age’s old system of Gurukuls vanished. It replaced by owned and government institutions called as schools.

The main aim of these schools is to part education to masses. No discrimination policy should be followed here as far as education is concerned.

Kids from diverse background comes in these institutions and all should be dealt same. This step brightens up the future of kids and the nation as a whole on wider prospective.

With passage of time schools get modified. The methods of teaching got improved. The structures of schools improved and the facilities given in this institution improved.

Rich section of society, who could afford to pay hefty fee, started opting for owned schools. Here the quality of education is far better than that provided in other schools.

Government owns and funds certain schools. This basic difference in two categories of school kept on widening as the time passed away.

Schools became high tech with day boarding facilities and hostel facilities. Activities like horse riding, cricket training, and swimming carried out in school premises.

More facilities a school caters to, higher is the standard of school. Higher is the name and fame of school, more prestigious parents considered to it.

All this is possible because school are commercial avenues. They aim at earning profit for the directors of school. They offer facilities in exchange of hefty fee structure.

If I could form government whereby I could exercise my powers. I wish to reform certain rules that should be mandatory for every school to follow.

First rule to undergo reform is special privileges given to the staff kids of the school. They get the attention of the teacher staff irrespective of their academic performances.

These kids are allowed to pay lesser fee as any of their parents is part of school staff.

Entire teacher`s staff knows them by their name right from the first day in any class. It gives the feeling that they are born with golden stars on their foreheads. I wish these kids too should strive for acknowledgment year around.

They should not be allowed getting admissions in the same school as that of their parents. This problem doesn’t end up here, reservation is also part of the same issue, the magnitude is higher though.

I would make it necessary for schools to have teachers who have smiling faces alone. An encounter with strict teacher in the morning itself is a bad start of day. A smiling teacher boost the morale of students.

Entertainment classes should be there in schools where kids should be made to watch clean comedy movies. The proverb says “all work and no play make Jack a dull boy”.

Schools should have well equipped movie theater in their premises.  Sports classes are held in schools for physical fitness but mental breaks too are necessary.

I will like to amend the school rule book making rest break of 5 minutes after every subject period. This way mind could get enough oxygen.

This oxygen comes to students mind if they have opportunity to chit chat with their friends.  If one single teacher can’t teach all the subjects, how come single student can study all the subjects at a stretch?

No punishments for a late comer as “to error is human nature but to forgive it divine”. Teachers and school authorities are next to god as they make kids better human being.

And those personnel who rectifies god`s defaults are no less then god himself.

These are the lighter side of amendments that I would like to make. But the harsh reality demands strict and timely rectifications in schools rule book.

Today when newspapers are fill with incidents of school staff misbehaving with kids. Some strict actions should be taken.  This news not only hinder our education system but also image of India on a global level gets affected.

Students should be taught about bad and good touch from the childhood. They should be taught the art of self-defence.

Schools should provide students an environment where they are free enough to report any mischief. Teachers should be more of friends than mentors as they are the souls to hear and sort the issues of the children.

Adolescent too should also have an environment in school which is suitable for their development.

It includes mental and emotional aspect both. In case the foundation will be weak neither strong building could be built nor could it stand the test of time.
