George Washington can proudly be called the first president of the United States of America. He was born on the 22nd of February in the year 1732. He was born in Virginia. His father was Augustine Washington and mother was Mary Ball Washington. He had many brothers and sisters, around 5 of them.
He had many half brothers and a half sister too. George Washington was born in a plantation house that was built by his father. When George Washington was just 14 years old, he wanted to join the royal navy services.
But his mother feared losing her son and thought it was not a very lucrative career option for him, so she did not allow him to go and join the services.
But George Washington had a lot of desire to join there. By nature, George Washington was an adventurous boy. His mother feared his various adventures and hence did not allow him to join the naval forces.
Adventurous Nature
As an adventurous man, right when he entered the age of sixteen, he tried to become a surveyor. He would often be seeing venturing into the deep jungles of Virginia and this adventurous mind of his led him to become a surveyor of his country.
He secured an appointment and soon joined as a county surveyor. All this happened when he was just sixteen years of age. It was in the year 1751, when George Washington went along with one of his half brother too far away British land to the region of Barbados.
There he took care of his half brother. According to sources, it was the only country apart from his own, that he visited in his lifetime. His brother was suffering from tuberculosis and needed help. He took George Washington by his side.
George Washington’s brother was so sick and the extreme heat outside became totally unbearable, not only for him but for George Washington as well. Due to various factors, George Washington contracted small pox and he saw the toughest times of his life.
Even in those testing times, George Washington did not lose hope and recovered very well. It was his young age that helped him and cured him off this deadly disease.
George Washington was the main force behind how America got its independence from the British forces. He led an army that warred against the French forces, though it did not bring success to him. He initiated an attack that led to a seven year war.
This seven year war had all the possibilities to turn into a full swing of world war between many other nations too. Such was the leadership of George Washington that he led big armies during his time and his able leadership is what America remembers to this day. T

War with The French Forces
It was in the late 1754 that the French troops increased in power and the army led by George Washington was left with no choice but to surrender to the overpowering forces. Though George Washington was an able leader, he had the brain of a master mind. He was a smart decision maker.
He did not fight battles with blind intentions. He could see failure at his own doorstep and it was his intelligent way of handling the situation that brought the whole army of George Washington back to their own native Virginia. He did not falsely build hopes of winning in a situation which had turned totally against them.
He could gauge that the French army had enough sources to overpower them, so he did not take unreasonable risks. He neither called it quits, but opened a peace truce with the French army that allowed him and his men to return safely to their own lands.
Early Life & Marriage
In 1759, he got married to Martha Washington. Martha was a rich widow who had two children when she got married to George Washington.
The brother who George Washington looked after and went with him to Barbados left a lot of wealth behind him which George Washington acquired possession of. It was brought legally and George Washington took every care of the big palatial house and even sought to expand the land and the structure to new forms.
Health Issues
George Washington had lot of health problems too. He faced lot of problems with his tooth and he could often be found groaning about his ill health due to his dentition issues. Tooth decays, tooth falling, he had seen every bit of problem with his tooth and he could hardly do anything about that.
Apart from ill health, George Washington was never to fail in anything. He rose in popularity among his countrymen and they threw lavish parties for him.
He had many lady admirers and he, being a gentleman charmer naturally attracted many ladies to dance gracefully with him. It was on many occasions that he learnt new forms of dancing and he gradually took to the art with time flying by.
He had a soft heart for dance and he learnt many forms and danced to different tunes all along when he visited important people in parties and big get together.
Own Ventures
George Washington became a big industrialist on the lands of America and he popularly owned one of the biggest distilleries of wine in his nation. He became a big owner of the establishment. With huge money coming in from his many ventures, he was not one to settle down happily under his feet.
He fought for America’s independence. He united people from various colonies and influenced them to start the struggle for independence. He was severely bruised in many battles. He is infamously known for losing plenty of battles in his lifetime.
The number of wars that he has won limits to a few numbers. He had the courage to stand up and fought another one but never gave up his spirit.
Liberation of America
His leadership and ability to bring people together at war was the actual reason behind why America got independence.
Every nation receives its independence due to a few inspiring leaders and in America, people even to this day remember George Washington for his great and everlasting contribution to bring back the lost glory to America.
Thus America was able to secure independence from British forces and George Washington became the first president of America, liberated America. He served two terms totally for a total period of 8 years and during his tenure, the vice president was John Adams.
He resigned from his post in the year 1797. During the first term at office, George Washington spent his office time in New York. During his second term, he was sent to Philadelphia and served office from there.
George Washington is famously known as the only president who did not stay at the glorious White House. The reason being simple. The White house was built only after George Washington completed his complete tenure from office as president.
The US Navy received formal powers and strengthened its base only during George Washington’s tenure. He gave importance to the country’s naval establishments and actually created an empowered naval force during his tenure. George Washington was a man of immense religious faith.
He believed in god, his powers and the strength in prayers. He allowed people to preach and practice their own religious faiths. He never forced his views upon people and believed in the fact that every person has the right to exercise his own views and live life the way he wants to.

We live in a liberated world, full of great leaders who have come as an inspiration to the people of today. Their past achievements take us on a tour of exploring their qualities further and taking inspiration to imbibe those qualities in our life too.
They were not born to be leaders in just a day, they had to really struggle and wade through tough times and then they rose from the shackles. Many were privileged with good education and others had to fight a tough battle with their perseverance, determination and tough attitudes.
Hard work and never die spirits took them from small steps to big achievements in life and the path they took can be traced with good developments and progress marking stepping stones towards the doors of success.
