Imaginary Essay on The year 2035

Dear whoever is reading this letter,

I am a person who is sending this letter from the year 2035. I know it seems impossible or looks like someone is playing a prank on you but trust me when I say this that it is not true.

Even in the year 2035, we still haven’t invented the time machine, but we did invent a way in which we could send objects in the past.

I used that device to send this letter to the past. We are still running some test on the machine and this is a part of the test.

 I don’t know who you are but I would like to say Hello to you first. I am a scientist who helped in inventing this device which we call as ‘Time X’.

I am sorry but I can’t reveal my name to you because I exist in the past and there is also a one in a million chance that whoever you are possibly know me or can find me.

I would like you to do me a favour please. By doing this favour you will ensure us that we actually manage to send a letter in the past.

I just want you to post this letter along with a reply from you so that we can receive it today i.e., 11th January 2035 by 10pm on the address – Scientist Ex Palace.

We will be grateful to you if you do this and will make sure to thank you publicly when we launch Time X.

I never imagined even in my wildest dream that when I woke up today that I will find a letter from future stuck in the bushes of the park. I don’t know what I should do about it.

Should I do as requested in the letter or just ignore it. The first possibility that I can think of is that someone is pulling a prank on me but there is also the possibility (very little) that it may not be a prank.

It is 10 am in the morning and I still have near about 12 hours to decide. Time travel has always been a dream that no one can touch even in 2018 and if the letter is by any chance correct then not even in 2035.

So, should I believe that this letter is from the future or not.

There is a chance that it is from the future because the quality of the paper is not something I have ever seen before and it definitely looks expensive and from the way the ink soaked the paper, it can also be concluded that the ink is made to write on this paper particularly.

However, there is still a chance that it is all part of a prank. So, against my better judgement, I sat to write a letter to post it with the instruction to send it in such a way that it is to be received in the following address on 11^th January 2035 by 8 pm.

My reply consists of the fact that someone did found the letter along with my name and address. One week passed and I had almost forgotten about the incident when I found another letter stuck in the same bush.

That was the last letter that I ever got and gradually I have completely forgotten about the incident.

Dear ma’am,

Thank you for replying to our letter as we thought that no one will reply as they will think of this as a prank and for letting us know that we have somewhat succeeded in making a device that can send objects to the past.

There are still some flaws, but we will fix it with time. For your cooperation we managed to do it and as thank you we will disclose some facts to you about the future.

We still haven’t contacted your future self and as it turns out that you do know me in the future.

I am sure you are curious to know about the future. We will only discover facts that are not harmful or can be used in any wrong way.

Do not misunderstand us as we had no choice. It is a part of an experiment, and we don’t want the future to change. So, we would like to tell you that in 2035, the world will actually unite and there will be somewhat peace among the nations.

We successfully managed to grow plant on Mars and within a decade or so people will probably start to live there too! We can fly now as a body suit was invented by the nation’s talented scientists that help us to fly.

We don’t use cars anymore and instead of cars, there is moving roads like escalator everywhere. After a crisis, the nations decided to start planting plants in such a rate that within two years, the crisis was solved.

World is a better place now and possibly for our future generations too.

 That is all the information I can give you. Also, our organization will contact you soon to let you know about this incident and to give you the recognition that you deserve for helping us.

In the year 2035,

I was sitting in the balcony of my house and sipping coffee and was looking at the view in front of me. The children were playing in the park happily.

The park was huge and completely green with different trees decoration the park along with the grass all over the ground.

In a city at today’s date, getting a house with a view of the park is extremely rare as everywhere else you look, all you can see is sky touching houses and the road that is constantly moving to take passengers in their destination.

One cannot even look at the sky without disturbance as from time to time someone goes flying by. It is a wonder till today that how much the nation’s scientist has improved.

You don’t have to do anything by yourself as everything is done by the machines including cooking. In some ways it is peaceful as there is world peace and also crimes are not that common either so all in all it is good.

While thinking about everything and nothing, I heard footsteps behind me. I turned to see my husband coming.

I am surprised to see my husband at this time of the day because he is so busy with his new project that I rarely see him when the sun is still in the sky.

He came towards me and handed me an envelope and said that his project is complete. He is a scientist and because of the secrecy that scientists have to maintain, I had no idea about his new project.

I opened it and saw that there are some letters inside. After going through them, my eyes widen as I started remembering that incident from past.

I had completely forgotten about it but now I realized that it wasn’t a prank and in fact I helped my husband only who is the leader of the project Time X. My husband thanked me and laughed at my gobsmacked expression.
