Essay on My favourite Game Football

June 11, 2020 by Study Mentor Leave a Comment

If you want to be fit and physically healthy, the games are crucial. There are many games which I like to play, but football is my favorite game. The football is an outdoor game played by players of two teams.  Both football teams have 11–11 players, which means that there are a total of 22 players in a football match.  The team scoring the most number of goals is the winner, and the team with the least goals is the looser.  In this game, a ball is played by kicking it with the foot.  The game is also called Saucer in some countries.  There are many forms of football tournament such as – Football Association (UK), Gridiron Football, American Football or Canadian Football (in the US and Canada), Australian Rule Football or Rugby League (Australia), Gallic Football (Ireland), Rugby Football (New Zealand)  etc.  Various forms of football are known as football codes.

Football is the most famous sport in the world, even in this modern era.  It is a very thrilling and challenging game that is usually played by two teams for the enjoyment and entertainment of the youth.  It is also played in front of judges to win or receive a prize on a competitive basis. Initially, it was played by villagers (called rugby in Italy).

Rules of Football

Without rules, there is no enjoyment in any game. Standards are essential in the game. Football is the most-watched game in the world.  The easier it is to play football, the harder it is to understand the mathematics.  In a football team, a team has a maximum of 11 players on the field at a time.  11–11 players from both teams try to save the goal at their goal post and target at the goal post of the opposing team.  There are 2 halves of 45 minutes each in this 90-minute game.  There is also some extra time in both of these halves, which is taken out, keeping in mind the time of the players’ injury during the match, the time of playing between player submissions, or any other time wasted due to any other reason.

Some terms in a football match are important to understand.  Moreover, apart from some terms, the field and players are represented by different words.  So let us know what those terms are.

Football Rules: The decision to start the game is through a toss, in which the captain who wins the toss decides whether his team wants to attack the goal post or kick off the ball.

Kick-off:

Football begins with the kick-off.  The team that wins the toss starts.

Time:

The match is of 90 minutes, in which 45-45 minutes are divided into two parts.  After completion of 90 minutes, some time is added, which is called Injury Time.

Penalty Kick:

If the goalkeeper’s position or the defending team fouls, the other team gets a penalty kick.  This kick is taken a right in front of the goalkeeper.

Penalty Shootout:

In league games, the game may end with a draw, but in some knock out games, if the game is tied for a specific time, then the match can go on to extra time if the tie remains after the extra time of the penalty shootout.  Is used for.

Offside:

In the offside rule, the forward players cannot go ahead of the other player defending without the ball, especially near the opposing team’s goal line.

Throw-in:

When the ball crosses the line completely, then the opposing team gets rewarded for the last time it touches the ball.

Corner kick:

When the ball crosses the goal line without a goal, and the attacking team gets rewarded due to the last touch of the ball by the defending team.

Indirect free kick:

This is awarded to the opposing team when the ball is sent out without any particular foul, and the game stops.

Yellow card:

The referee can send the player out of the field by showing a yellow card for his misbehavior as a punishment.  And if a player gets two yellow cards, then his two yellow cards become equal to one red card, and he has to go out of the field.

Red Card:

Getting a yellow card for the second time in the same game means getting a red card, and after that, if one player is kicked out of the field then no other player can come in his place means that team at that time  Have to play with 10 players only.

At the end of the match, it is seen that which team has scored more goals, which team scores more goals in the match, the same team does its name.

When the discussion of football has started, then there should be some discussion on its history in India.  Colonialism has been responsible for the spread of most sports worldwide.  If a country enslaved a country, it would bring its culture, its food as well as its sport.

Along with cricket, football was also brought to India by the British in the mid-19th century.  It was started here for the entertainment of British soldiers, but it was popularized in the country by Nagendra Prasad Sarvadhikari.  He is also known as ‘Father of Indian Football.’  In 1877, he started creating an atmosphere by taking it to the Hare School in Calcutta (Kolkata).  He asked his friends to play football.  Gradually these people started playing football on the school grounds.  It has made European teachers happy.  He asked the authority to take it to other schools and colleges

Conclusion

There are many games to play. You can play what you like. My favorite game is football, so I like to play football. When I was in school, I often used to play football, but now I cannot play because for this game, we need 33 players. My friends have no time to play this game. They always get busy with their phones. They like to play on the phone. However, you all do not do that. Go outside and play outdoor games.
